The world around us
Swirls around us
So many miles
Stretch out on all sides
So many possibilities
Diverging on so many lives
The clock
And the calendar
Appointments and
Random encounters
Just the frequent fractures
That latch onto the surface
And dig deep
Until they live in our subconscious
Until we are finishing our errands
In our dreams
Reality can be confusing
Especially after a good night's sleep
Conversations sweep across the hours
Like wind through a cracked car window
Calm but fierce
Soft but piercing
Something like a content soul
But something so ethereal
Who really knows
I want to know
We all want to know
The universe
And all its secrets
We live so big
On a planet so small
We can find out anything
So everything becomes
Just a line of code
But part of the wonder
Is the wonder
And part of the chaos
Is borne from calm
