Cities shine in perfect patterns
The wilderness sings
Its various hazards
As the planet spins in desolate silence
Around a sun
Emitting its last gasp
As hands block the rays
Eyes squint through the haze
Everyone has somewhere to be
But sometimes we find ourselves
Frozen in time
Faded in place
Only a few of us
Have waded
Among the stars
But many of us have felt
Just as far
In a lively dining room
Or a crowded bar
How far is the distance
We travel in our minds
As it is mesmerized
From memories and sensations
Rushes of people
And snippets
Of profound exchanges
Conversations can careen and crash
As the world creates scenarios
Difficult
For even the cynical to grasp
But momentum
Will always be maintained
As we hurl through
The vastness of time
And the emptiness of space
Stars can emit a fractured light
As they blink and dim
Sometimes it feels like
They shine on a whim
So far and so close
So many possibilities and possible points
Of life
So many things to consider
As tired eyes and frenzied minds
Meander
Through countless restless nights
